Sales & Marketing Manager
Auckland, New Zealand
At Wheelers Books, we believe in the uplifting power of books to enrich lives. A long established and growing company with offices in New Zealand and Australia, we are a leading supplier of shelf ready books to schools and libraries across Australasia.
We are seeking a Sales & Marketing Manager to provide strong leadership and ensure the efficient and organised delivery of sales and marketing strategies for Wheelers. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will inspire and guide a talented team, drive growth, and strengthen Wheelers’ brand presence across the sector.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the sales and marketing teams to achieve growth targets while developing and executing strategies that align with Wheelers’ business objectives. You will oversee sales pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring a clear view of performance and opportunities including the development of new sales pipelines.Â
A key focus will be championing customer service initiatives including building strong customer and market engagement to drive satisfaction, retention, and acquisition. You will also foster collaboration across the business, ensuring alignment between sales, marketing and customer service efforts to maximise impact and results.Â
In addition, you will build systems and processes that strengthen partnerships with schools, libraries and key industry organisations, ensuring our solutions consistently create value.Â
Periodically you will also be leading the service of our literacy programmes such as Duffy Books in Homes.
Experience in the book selling industry, publishing or the education sector is preferred.Â
We welcome applications from those who have the following skills and attributes:
- Proven experience in sales and marketing leadership in a related industry
- A strong track record of delivering revenue growth and measurable marketing results
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team management skills
- Strong customer relationship management and negotiation capabilities
- Proficiency with CRM systems and digital marketing platforms
- High-level communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Additional skills such as marketing automation, SEO/SEM, event management, or industry networks will be an advantage.
